How to find us ...
Variant 1 via the Meraner Steig
From Haldensee you walk along the lake to the valley station
of the Krinnenalplift in Nesselwängle.
From there, the forest path leads to the highest
point of the hike (1,528 m).
You then follow the Meraner Steig in an easterly direction at
and then descend via the hiking trail or alternatively via the
wide forest path to the KleinMeran snack station.
Walking time: approx. 3.5 hours
Altitude difference: 430m ascent and descent
Variant 2 via Nesselwängle
From Haldensee you hike along the lake to Haller.
There you cross the main road and reach the panoramic trail above Nesselwängle.
At the eastern end of Nesselwängle, after a short climb, you reach the village of Rauth with the KleinMeran snack station.
Walking time: approx. 2.30 hours
Elevation gain: 177 m ascent, 165 m descent
Variant 3 to the Birch Valley
You can also easily reach the KleinMeran snack station by car.
From there, a hiking trail leads into the beautiful Birkental valley to the start of the Krotten gorge without any great difference in altitude.
Follow the same path back to the KleinMeran snack station.

Elevation gain: 179 m ascent, 179 m descent
The bus stop for the hiking bus is located below the village of Rauth on the main road and is only a 15-minute walk from the snack station.
