Vacations in the Tannheimer valley
... probably the most beautiful high valley in Europe
The “most beautiful high valley in Europe” is how the writer Ludwig Steub described the Tannheimer Tal – and many, many holidaymakers have followed his example to this day.
The Tannheimer Tal has already received several awards as a first-class hiking destination in Austria as well as a biker’s paradise.
The hiking trails stretch across the entire valley and the neighboring Allgäu … and with every step you take, picturesque landscapes of mountains, deep green forests, glistening lakes, alpine meadows, farmhouses and chapels as well as unique alpine flora open up before you.
Tannheimer Valley: in Tyrol & in Allgäu
The Tannheimer Tal is located at 1,160 – 1,140 m in the Tannheim mountains, which are part of the Allgäu Alps, in the Austrian state of Tyrol.
There are 6 communities in the Tannheimer Tal: Nesselwängle, Grän, Tannheim, Zöblen, Schattwald and the Bavarian enclave of Jungholz.
Your Hotel Tyrol is idyllically and quietly located in the hamlet of Haldensee in Grän, just a 5-minute walk from the lake of the same name.
