Accessibility Statement

Accessibility statement in accordance with Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 of the Commission of 11 October 2018 establishing a model accessibility statement in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies

Declaration of Accessibility

Hotel Tyrol am Haldensee GesmbH is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with § 14b of the Tyrolean Anti-Discrimination Act 2005 for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.tyrol-haldensee.com/.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compatible with conformance level AA of the 'Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1' or with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08) due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible because it is not compatible with the underlying harmonized standard EN 301 549:

  • On almost all pages, the contrast between text and background is too low. | WCAG: 1.4.3
  • There are headings on a page that have no caption or contain the aria-hidden attribute and are therefore not accessible to screen readers. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • On almost all pages there are scrollable elements that cannot be scrolled with the keyboard. This makes it difficult for users of assistive technologies to grasp the whole page. | WCAG: 2.1.1
  • On several pages there are elements whose Aria ID occurs several times. This makes it difficult to navigate the website with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2

The following content is not accessible because it constitutes a disproportionate burden:

Many older PDF and Word documents are not accessibility-ready. For example, they are not tagged, so screen reader users cannot or only insufficiently obtain structural information. This means WCAG success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value) is not met. For PDF documents that are required for ongoing administrative procedures, such as application forms, we plan to replace these documents with HTML forms. For new PDF or Word documents we plan to take accessibility requirements into account according to WCAG 2.1 and, where possible, PDF/UA.

The following content is not accessible because it does not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation:
Our videos are hosted and published on the YouTube platform. It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions for some of these videos. This means WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio description recorded) is not met. We have evaluated the costs of remedying the issue and consider that providing audio descriptions now would constitute a disproportionate burden. We will evaluate alternatives.
Content from third parties, for example documents/posters for events or menus from businesses that are outside the control of the authority, are exempt from Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No statement can be made about the accessibility of such third-party content.

Arbitration

If the answers from the contact option mentioned above are not satisfactory, you can contact the Ombudsman for Accessible Internet and Mobile Applications of the state of Upper Austria via Complaint. The Complaint will be reviewed to determine if it is a violation of the requirements of the § 14b of the Tyrolean Anti-Discrimination Act 2005 of the state, municipalities, municipal associations, and self-governing bodies established by state law. If the Complaint is justified, the Ombudsman's office must issue recommendations for action and propose measures to the state or the affected legal entities to remedy the existing deficiencies. Further information on the complaint procedure can be found on the website of the Ombudsman for Accessible Internet and Mobile Applications.

Optional content: Additional information and user support

Usage notes: page structure, navigation and orientation aids

To keep the content as accessible as possible, pages follow a consistent structure. The navigation contains the following skip links to page areas, which are in some cases also reachable via landmark roles:

  • Skip to content (Accesskey 1)
  • Skip to navigation (Accesskey 2)
  • Skip to subnavigation (Accesskey 3)
  • Skip to search (Accesskey 4)

Screen reader users will find hidden additional information on the pages, for example notes about link behaviour if a link does not open in the same window.

Scalable layout

The pages are responsive to support mobile devices and strong scaling. The content adapts to different window widths. When scaling desktop browsers, please reload the page after setting the desired zoom. At 200% zoom no content should overlap.

Search

The search provides a full-text search over website content. Search results are generated dynamically on the same page.

Language markup and language

The default language is set for each page. Within a page we aim to mark differently-language passages accordingly.

Link behaviour

  • All links open in the same window unless explicitly indicated.
  • On rare occasions where links open a new window, we will try to indicate this with the tooltip 'opens in a new window'.
  • Links to internal documents include the document format and file size in the link title or next to the document name.

Documents

We endeavour to continuously improve the accessibility of our documents and follow PDF/UA in addition to accessibility guidelines where possible. A fully accessible experience for all PDF documents according to PDF/UA cannot always be guaranteed.

Please contact us by e-mail at info@tyrol-haldensee.com if you have difficulties with documents. We will provide the content in an accessible format on request and replace or complement documents with accessible alternatives.
